The BIBO Pulmifier® was developed in collaboration with horse owners and veterinarians from the Gross-Wallstadt Equine Clinic (Germany). Many details arose directly from the experience of daily use with horses undergoing inhalation therapy. Because in the stable, it's often not just about the pure nebulisation performance, but also how uncomplicated and reliable an equine inhaler can be integrated into daily life.
That's why the application is intentionally kept simple. Plug & Play. Connect the two parts, fill the nebuliser and start the device. No preparation, no intermediate steps. Especially for horse owners with no previous experience with an inhaler and for young or restless horses, the simple and quiet application helps in everyday life.
Nebuliser & Controller
Our core components are the controller and the nebuliser, powered by Aerogen® technology – the world market leader in aerosol drug delivery in acute human medical care.
The result is a durable mesh nebuliser designed for up to 2,000 applications in daily stable life. Especially with regular inhalation, this makes a noticeable difference: fewer interruptions, lower follow-up costs, and significantly more reliability in everyday use.
The nebuliser sits directly in front of the nostrils and generates the aerosol mist inside the mask. This makes inhalation particularly efficient and pleasant to use. To ensure that the equine inhaler functions reliably even under typical stable conditions, the controller is IP44 protected – against solid foreign objects 1 mm and larger, and against splashing water from all directions. Even if the mask falls, the controller's bumper provides additional safety in everyday use.
Clear signals with every inhalation
When switched on, the BIBO Pulmifier® performs a short self-test, which is accompanied by an acoustic signal. If the green power indicator is lit, the device is ready for use. During nebulisation, a green illuminated ring indicates that the inhalation is in progress. If the ring flashes, the application is paused.
Once the inhalation solution has been completely nebulised, the device recognises this automatically. Three short acoustic signals indicate that the application is complete, and the horse inhaler automatically switches to standby mode.
The battery level is also visible at all times. Four LEDs indicate the charge in 25% increments. If the last LED glows orange, the battery has enough power for approximately one 10 ml inhalation. A yellow warning triangle indicates that the connection between the nebuliser and the controller should be checked.
If the device is not in use, it switches off automatically: after 3 minutes in standby mode, and after 10 minutes when paused.
Mask & Strap
The Cordura® SoftFit Mask is particularly light, flexible, and robust. The soft natural rubber seal ensures a secure, flexible fit and high wearing comfort, while the integrated panic release offers additional safety in everyday use. The release opens automatically with both a sudden, jerky pull and a slowly increasing tensile force. In addition, the Cordura® SoftFit Mask is easy to wipe clean.

Cordura® is a particularly durable textile fabric that is suitable for daily use in the stable. The mask is skin-friendly according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and can be easily cleaned in a laundry net in the washing machine if necessary.
The panic release reacts to different loads. It opens both with a sudden, jerking pull and with a slowly increasing tensile force – for example, if a horse gets caught with the mask or mask strap.
The valves positioned on the left and right ensure controlled airflow within the mask. This allows the horse to breathe freely, while the aerosol mist remains inside the mask.
The natural rubber seal is flexible and can adapt to different horse heads. This contributes to a reliable seal and a comfortable fit of the mask during inhalation.
The nebuliser sits directly in front of the nostrils and generates the aerosol mist within the mask. The aerosol chamber integrated into the mask ensures the mist is directed precisely into the nostrils. The integrated aerosol chamber was developed with veterinarians from the Gross-Wallstadt Equine Clinic (Germany).

Yes, the BIBO Pulmifier® is completely wireless. This means it is battery-operated and works without an external power source or additional connection cables. This allows the mobile equine inhaler to be used flexibly between the stable box, aisle, or trailer.

The included BioThane® strap can be used as a neck or halter strap as needed. Additionally, the mask is available in Sand, Dark Oak, and Lagoon.

Ich durfte den Bibo Pulmifier über mehrere Wochen bei meinem atemwegskranken Pferd testen und bin begeistert.
Die Handhabung ist extrem einfach und völlig selbsterklärend, was die tägliche Anwendung super unkompliziert macht. Der Akku hält super lange durch und auch bei der Anwendung von Sole liefert das Gerät eine sehr starke Verneblung, was zu einer angenehm kurzen Verneblungszeit führt.
Ein riesiger Pluspunkt ist der extrem stabile Sitz: Akku und Vernebler sitzen bombenfest an der Maske – da wackelt oder verrutscht nichts, selbst wenn sich das Pferd bewegt. Zudem läuft das Gerät schön leise und piept, sobald es fertig ist. Das ist in der täglichen Nutzung super angenehm, weil man nicht ständig daneben stehen und kontrollieren muss, wie weit die Inhalationsflüssigkeit schon vernebelt ist. Mein Pferd hat die Anwendung sehr genossen und dabei entspannt gedöst.
Eine echte Erleichterung im Alltag und eine klare Empfehlung!
